If you’re like me then you are preparing to send your toddler to their first day of preschool. It seems so simple yet so daunting at the same time as they don’t need much but we want to pack everything so here is what I am packing for my preschooler.
*My preschooler is also going into special education so this may vary based on their specific needs.*
- This mini backpack is the perfect size for your little one with just the right amount of space to fit everything they may need including a folder, which leads me to my next item.

2. Folders are usually recommended to keep our little one’s artwork safe and any notices the teacher may send home. These plastic folders are not only cute but also plastic, which sounds a little more durable than the cardboard ones.

3. My toddler is still in diapers so she will need to be sent to school with her own diapers and wipes. The school also requested a change of clothes in case of an accident or if her clothes get messy during activities. I have decided that packing her diapers and an extra set of clothes in a wet bag is the best option so everything is together and if she has soiled clothes they can go into a bag without worry that the smell or wetness will spread to anything else.

4. A leakproof water bottle is a must-have for your young school-aged kiddo. My child and I love these cups because the mouthpiece is soft for the user and prevents leaks. The mouthpiece also folds down to help keep germs at bay. These Camelback Eddy+ cups also come in a variety of colors and designs so there is something for every child.

5. Everyone knows school time means new illnesses so having hand sanitizer and antibacterial wipes on hand is a must! I love these antibacterial wipes from Target because they work super well and don’t dry out even if exposed to high temps. A spray hand sanitizer has also been a lifesaver with my toddler and this brand and scent are one of my favorites.

I’m sure as the school year goes on I will add more to her bag but for now this is where we will start. If you have any suggestions for what I should add to my preschooler’s backpack please let me know! I always feel like I am missing something but then again it’s only preschool, not high school!
